If I was a rollerblade salesperson
My first pair of rollerblade was not inline, it had a break at the front and four wheels placed at four corners forming a square so the bottom of the rollerblade looked something like this:
When I was a toddler, my mother took me to the public park every weekend so I can practice rollerblading near the playground area. I believe I stopped rollerblading in Grade 1 and began rollerblading again in Grade 5 but only occasionally because I had two pairs of crappy rollerblades that hardly rolled. It is important to get a pair of rollerblade that fit you properly and can roll properly. It makes it a lot more fun. You can do more moves with better equipment.
Many years later, as a grown adult, I finally was equipped with, imho, the best pair of rollerblade ever. At least, the best pair I have ever laid my feet on! It fitted me perfectly and it rolled easily. I didn't know I was so good at rollerblading until I had them. My years of training with equipment that did not fit me at all had really paid off. If you can work with less than perfect equipment, you will be that much better when equipped with equipment that is only slightly better.
The benefit of rollerblading is that it is faster than running and less straining on the body at the same time. It's a great way to exercise when you need to recover from injury. For example, you may be slower than biking but again it's less straining on the body. With that said, you have to know how to use your rollerblade to truly enjoy this experience. If you are nervous the entire time, it won't be relaxing at all.
If you are just starting out practice at a place that feels safe and comfortable to you. Once you have some control you can travel further and before you know it, you might be rollerblading everywhere!

You've got mail 2.0
There are some errors entirely not my fault since a long time ago. For example, the previous owner/renter and family too lazy to change their address with the religious institution and post-secondary institution. I've been throwing away their very regular but infrequent mails from those two institutions for years. Looked like advertisements (probably requesting for donations and self-promoting). Two years ago, I finally decided to correct the error by writing on the mail and say "no such person" and putting it back in the community mailbox. The mail still come but more irregularly now.
Today, the wrong address got put into my mail box at the community mail box so I decided to go to the post office and complaint. I spoke loudly so the employee did not want to communicate with me because my speaking loudly is perceived by that employee and one other bystander as I am yelling at such employee.
If I could re-do my interaction, it will go something like this.
"Hi, so and so I see your name on the name tag." said I
In reality, I didn't read the name tag at all, I just immediately said what I needed to say as soon as he could speak to me. I was the only one in line the office was quiet.
"How are you doing today?" said I pleasantly.
"Fine, thank you. I am doing very well and yourself?" said person with the unread name tag.
"I am well. Thank you for asking. Lovely weather we have today."
"Yes, Yes"
"You have a moment"
"Of course"
"Well, so and so with the name tag, my mailbox in the community mailbox received two incorrect mails not meant to be delivered to my address."
"Oh?"
"Yes. Please make sure you write a proper report about this. I don't want to continually receive mail not meant for my mailbox. Also please make a note that the mails appeared to have already been redirected once. I do not work for your employer and I am not on contract with your employer so I don't know how to read this stuff. Please make sure you take care of this accordingly. Thank you, kind person with the name tag."
"Of course, of course. Don't worry about it, leave it to me."
In reality, I walked away after talking loudly to the employee and was falsely accused of yelling at him. I would have agreed if they said I was yelling at the mail and not the employee. Hopefully, the employee can write a proper report, he had plenty of time, there was no one after me. The employee had all the time in the world to properly document the two returned mails.

The joy of reading
Electronic devices are great but the information provided may not be correct, may be too simple or may be too complicated. During writing this past year, I have found that reading the hard copy dictionary I have at home helped me clear my mind when I am confused.
Recently, I began using the Chinese dictionary again and I felt very happy every time I am able to look up a word. Using the Chinese dictionary is very different from the English dictionary. It is an achievement everytime I manage to look up a word. It means that I remember how to write the word, count the strokes as well as how a particular word was derived.
It also reminded me of why things took time. Electronic devices have made things so easy that people sometimes forget why things took time.

Parody Guru
I digress.
During filming, I noticed how convenient my washroom is for filming. The builtin cabinet above the sink was not clustered (because I don't use many products) so I easily placed my filming device in the cabinet while filming. I enjoyed filming very much because I loved the product I featured. I have been using it for years, it is easy to use, effective and painless. I wouldn't change brand because there is a difference.

World Peace
You cannot help people find peace, they have to find it themselves. If someone ever reaches out to you because they want to find peace and if you think you are able to help, help them. Finding peace is not that hard. Do not be deluded by Wars that people create.
For example, I was in an internal war with myself about how to spend my time productively. I am currently winning the battle because I value the things I do for myself as well as others. When people look at me, they think I don't need help. I do but no one really wants to help. I know this because no one is truly listening. Nevertheless, I have arrived at an answer I am happy with which is that I will continue to work at a part-time job that I don't like and do not make much money on; however, it does not take much of my time and the people who hired me do require my assistance. On my free time, I do projects that I have been meaning to do and I get no money at all. What I do get is self-satisfaction and I know I am learning. I also have something to show what I have been doing with all my free time.
In the meantime, I started approaching people to see if anyone is interested in collaborating with me on things I want to do. I do not want to waste my time. Unfortunately, most people are picky because no one wants to waste their time either.

Home Alone 5
Home Alone, the movie, has brought laughter to many homes. It is also one of many people's favourite movie. A kid alone at home for the entire Christmas. The smartest, most mischevious kid in the family. I can never imagine doing any of the things that kid pulled off. I sort of stopped watching Home Alone after the first two because it has been too long and I just don't see how they can tell the tale in a different way from the trailers or posters I saw. If I was a parent of a kid and my kid have not seen any of the Home Alone movies, Home Alone 3 would be the first one for my non-existent kid's Home Alone movie experience.
I just found out today, January 7, 2018, that there is a Home Alone 4 which I definitely have not watched. There is a different Home Alone tale to tell and a movie depicting that may already exist. If someone was to attempt to make Home Alone 5 and claim that it will be the BEST movie EVER before anyone with insider information can see it that would be so problematic. Here is my pitch to my non-existent readers, the smartest, most mischievous kid in the family is Home Alone once again; however, this time as an adult. If I continue more that's where the bottleneck starts for some people.
Let's just leave with why is he home alone again?
What crisis will happen on screen for the duration of our film?
How much fun will we have during production?
How much headache and heartache would we experience in the end?
[insert that screaming picture]

Bad staffs at Wedding
I have read a number of threads on forum where brides- to-be worry about their weddings. It is sad that wedding has been so commercialized that people forget it is a celebration of the union of two people. The guests are there not only to witness their union but also to bless their marriage.
I was not happy at the most recent wedding I attended. Although I was immediate family, I was not involved at all in the planning or hiring process of the wedding.
Here is my unofficial review of the poor hired who got hired.
Poor hired #1: Rude photographers. They rudely made a comment among themselves about how a word was taped upside down instead of politely telling someone in the family about it and asking if they could fix the unnoticed error.
Poor hired #2: The staff during rehearsal who gave my mother wrong instructions on what to do during the ceremony. I do not know if this was on purpose or not which led to a rude guest making a mean comment about my mother during the ceremony. Something along the line of my mother knowing too little. The rude guest whispered such comment but I was standing right behind her. Despite of what happened, my mother was graceful.
Poor hired #3:. The person who did my mother's make up. My mother would have made herself up better. I hated the make up such person put on my mother's face and the way such person geled my mother's hair.
Yeah. I would not recommend any of the people above.
On a future Thursday, I will post about a dreamy event at a wedding.

My First Creative Caretaker Add-on to Building - Computer Sketch
Artist's comment: I have not started my computer sketch yet. My thinking was that caretakers get at least a room in the building. There should be a water bed which is almost the first entry of water to the water pipe. The caretaker can have another bed but there will be a waterbed close enough to the pipe. I had another epiphany today for another fun add-on for a building but the waterbed close to water entry and pipe won last minute.
As always, I have not done prior research so yeah. I might research in the future.

You are unemployed
It is a new year, it is time to see how much winnings you can rake up from all contests available to the masses. Who do you want to call? If you are allowed to make only one phone call per day, who would you call?

Acting out of your ordinary
It is hard for people to adjust to you if you are different every day. I am trying to make this post as playful as possible. Originally, I was going to post this on a Monday. Monday, as you should know by now, is for blogging about things I find MUNDANE.
There are a lot of average people in this world so if you are different from the average your life can get more exciting and/or harder. If you are not homed school, at least in Canada anyways, you will notice that you have more choices as your progress in school. The amount of subject you have to take becomes more and more optional. It is a metaphor to life. What do you want to learn about? What do you want to discover more about? People tend to enjoy playtime more than mundane time. Everything is a balancing act.
Value is a hard to define. It changes every day.

Can you spot a snowman?
When I was a child, I had time to build at least one snowman every winter. Today, even after provided with the perfect snow to make the perfect snowman, all I see are fake snowmen everywhere. A paper in the shape of a snowman is NOT a snowman. This one year, in my elementary school, we rolled up such a big base for our big snowman that we could not put it together. We could not put it vertically up together. Our snowman just lay horizontal on the ground because the snowball was too big to be rolled on top of each other.
I decided to write lyrics of a snowman jingle to the famous Disney song "Do you want to build a snowman?"

Fire Drills post Numero Two
Today will be the second time I write about fire drills. I was walking my dog today and a fire truck was on siren. As it passed me, I started wondering what the fireman and firewoman will see when they arrive at the scene.
My first thought was a bird stuck in a tree. I have seen news covering fireman and firewoman rescuing cats on trees so rescuing birds from trees may be a possible scene they arrive to.
My next thought was it is a scheduled fire drill unbeknownst to the fire team on the fire truck. A new kind of fire drills is necessary because our society love to reach new heights. They have done so many times by building the NEXT tallest building. At one point in time, the CN tower was the tallest building in the world. The last I checked, it was only the ninth tallest.
While I continue walking my dog to get home, I thought it would be funny if the fire team arrive at the scene and immediately a colleague says to them "run to the 30th floor that's where the fire is". The whole team runs to the 30th floor (with all of their equipments), a little confused because they don't see any hints of fire, and finally they see the fire chief. That's when the fire chief announce the following: "This a scheduled fire drill and you are the slowest team to arrive. Before I tell you your next task, is your entire team here? I have not turned off the timer yet. Did you rescue anyone on your way up?".
After all is answered, the fire chief tells them to now get to the 60th floor and make sure to rescue anyone who has passed out as they try to speed to the 60th floor. That is actually where the fire is.
I don't know what happened when they got to the 60th floor. I guess fire drill is important for fireman.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Goodbye 2017, HELLO 2018!
My last day of work of 2017 was not pleasant but I thought of something sort of funny today about my situation. I had to basically contact two people at two different locations letting them know things has been done so the next person can start doing their thing. One person was being difficult and required tangible proof of things that were done. I was the annoying person who kept bugging one person for the other person. I honestly didn't want to be that person.
Today, I thought some people are very worried about courier packages or mail not arriving at the destination. These people would keep checking online to see the status of their package or keep calling the courier company in question. My experiences with courier companies as a professional have been pleasant and they are reliable and timely. It's weird to see people complaining because I have not experienced what they have experienced and I used to schedule for couriers quite regularly (almost daily). You sort of have to do a bit of everything when you work for a small size company where there is a lot of volumes. I rarely called the courier company and when I did it would have been because I made a mistake (which is extremely rare because I don't want to have to call them). It's a nice feeling when you call the recipient and they can confirm that they have received a package especially if it has and you know it takes at least 3 to 4 days to get there.
I honestly don't get why some people sound so angry on the internet about courier services. We are no longer living in the 1700s, 1800s or earlier where people have to ride horses in the freezing weather on unpaved roads to deliver packages. This morning, I was thinking I could imagine someone's spouse calling the recipient to see if the courier is alive and well but then I realized the telephone didn't exist back then. Imagine back in the days, when the courier services have to travel for months to get to the destination and then travel for months again to get home. If accidents happen no one even knows and everyone is left wondering what happened.
With that said, let's have another wonderful year everyone! Cheers!
My first GIF new years card! Not too shabby!
