Hard life of a musician

After reading an article about music.  My thought is this: "that's why only artists who dream big at a young age become big".  They have their own vision.  People will pay to hear them and buy their albums.

The hit single is just a preview.  Their best music may actually not be a hit single.  A hit single is catchy.  Like that weekly sales item on the flyer that wheel you in to the store.

Also the article I read appear to focus more on big artist. 

Music is also a very competitive field with many opportunities.  Think outside of the pop star dream please.

If your music suck and you suck at playing your musical instrument, its natural that no one will hire you.  Keep practicing and hopefully you get better.  It's hard work.

There are also people like me, who only buy used album.  Think carefully about how many copies you really want to print.

Anti Fraud Centre

The toll free anti fraud centre number is currently not working and it is too much work to sign up for another online account when you simply want to report a spam number.

I guess it is pretty hard to have a one size fit all website since scammers find new ways to create chaos.

This month I received calls from.three spammers.  I did not want to report the first two numbers because it was non threatening and it did not leave a voicemail claiming to be a representative of the government.

All three voicemails were left by a computer.  I am suppose to hit a number key to speak with a live person.  I am never by my phone so naturally I did not pick up.

A year ago, a male with huge accent left a voicemail claiming to be calling from the Canada Revenue Agency.  In that voicemail, he said I was in big trouble. He definitely did not sound like a government employee.  I wrote a letter to CRA complaining about that scary voicemail.

Today, I think a robot called me twice.  This time, it is saying if I don't pick up, I would be arrested. 

I searched for the number and noticed that it was listed on the Canadian government website.  I called the number and could not get through the.auto computer generated menu.  I promptly went to a Service Canada Centre hoping to speak with someone in person.  I figured it was either a fraud or an employee not working properly.

The staff at Service Canada was unhelpful.  The staff may have received training from the government about recent scams, the expectation of an government employee, service levels and etc.  I do not have any of those information.  The staff was able to maintain composure but I was not because it is not the first time I received calls like these.  It is unacceptable.

It is sad when the staff said this is a problem in Canada now.  As if, we are to accept this as the new norm.

I do not know if that staff has ever been a recipient of such calls.  I do not take them lightly because each time I receive a call like this, it created fear and anxiety within me.
