I have been waking up at around a little past half past four every morning for at least a month now because I start falling asleep at around ten to twenty every night. I do not like waking up so early because it is definitely much better to stay indoor at the time I normally wake up; however, as this has been my wake up time for quite a while, I decided to step out at my wake up time once in a while. Therefore, the outdoor enviornment at my wake up time is no longer foreign to me. Its cold, dark and eerie. Half an hour to an hour after my wake up time is when the colour of the sky start lightening up. People who sleep soundly during my wake up time will not understand what I mean about the changing colour because they have never been outside walking, jogging, cycling, rollerblading, etc. during this window of time I wrote about a few moments ago. If you are inside a car, you are not outside.
This morning I decided to "diarize" because I want to enjoy the great outdoor when it's brighter and warmer. I wish I could read this early in the morning but that sort of tires my brain a little to quite a bit. I actually no longer know when it is a good time to me recreationally anymore. When i was a child, I used to read before I goto bed. When i was commuting by subway or train, I used to read during my ride. I used to read at lunch sometimes too. Now, I am too tired to read before bed time and cannot read immediately after I wake up. Anyhow, last week, I tried new reading times which were (a) the half an hour to one hour where I am idle at home before departure to work, (b) the 15 to 20 mins where I am waiting for the entrance to work to be opened, (c) lunch time. Unfortunately, I am unable to bring the two books on my current reading list to work; therefore, I try to finish reading at least one fairy tale in the morning because I still have never read every fairy tale compiled into a book that I purchased a long time ago. Last year, I finished reading the ugly duckling for the first time ever, it was hilarious. (Yes, I have seen, read and heard this classic tale before) Till this day, I am still wondering if I am reading a copy of the original print but I have no time to delve deeper into my question. It will have to be something to revisit in the future. The book containing the ugly duckling stay at home. During my outing my carry on book is "The National Dream". I like that each chapter in this book is quite short, so I am able to finish a chapter at a time and continue reading forward. Sometimes, I forget where I left off and find that my bookmark moves around by itself. Either I am forgetful or someone moved my bookmark without my permission. Anyhow, I experienced this bookmark problem with another book. I would not have this problem if I read the book I am reading on a daily basis. Unfortunately, I might still forget the content I read; however, I would not forget that I did read chapter 5 yesterday. Sometimes, I cannot read because when I cannot read, I cannot read. There are many reasons why one cannot read sometimes.
This year, I start using an agenda again. Yesterday, I found that sometimes when I intend to jog down what I did, I end up writing what I am about to do. For example, yesterday morning, I wanted to write "I read chapter 4 of The National Dream"; however, what I wrote was "I read chapter 5 of The National Dream". Get it? If I read what I wrote two days ago then I can confirm today that yes, this past thursday I did finish reading chapter 5. Anyhow, I am too lazy to edit this "paragraph". You will never know when i finished reading chapter 5 but chapter 6 is where i will continue reading sometime today.
Anyhow, hoping my new reading time will work out because I want to continue my progress in a third book to the list which is a compilation of Chinese fairy tales. I think it can be my evening reading.
I also have to finish my reading of Batman comic compilation as well as copying drawings from it into my sketchbook during my reading. This one time, I bought a children's book and really liked it. I ended up donating it but before I donated it, I copied almost the entire book into my sketch book including illustrations. I was quite proud of my copying skills with a pencil. I didnt copy down the copywrite information, it's a waste of time and my time is limited. My sketch book is private and confidential and it's at home use. Copywrites pages are quite fun to read but sometimes that page is torn off from the book or not included. I meant, copyrights... Anyhow, after copying an entire children's book once in my sketchbook, I started copying more children books into my sketchbook (not the entire book though). My sketchbook is a lot more filled up after I started using it again quite a while ago.
I bought an Alice in Wonderland colouring book a while ago. I think its time i use my pastels and colour the entire book. I had my pastel since grade 3 or 4 and I like pastel but I don't like how messy it is or how it can change by itself after you are done with it. I think pastel would be the perfect medium to colour alice in Wonderland. I will experiment with water colouring in Christmas with my Christmas colouring book. I am very experienced with pencil crayon. On second thought, I might colour some pages of the alice in Wonderland book with Pentel Colour pen which I had since probably also grade 3 or 4 because the paper to that colouring book is quite hard and sturdy, it might be able to take the colour from those "solid liquid pens" without leaking to the back of the page. That type of paper might not be great for pastel. The Christmas colouring book paper on the other hand is definitely good for water colouring.
It's almost 6 a.m. now so I didn't have time to write about how far away I am from my simple childhood dream and how sad I am because of it. Have a good day.
