I am probably riding the transit home when this article is published. My father wants to count down at a crowded place this year and I will most likely have to tag along.
Happy New Year! Goodbye 2017, HELLO 2018!
My last day of work of 2017 was not pleasant but I thought of something sort of funny today about my situation. I had to basically contact two people at two different locations letting them know things has been done so the next person can start doing their thing. One person was being difficult and required tangible proof of things that were done. I was the annoying person who kept bugging one person for the other person. I honestly didn't want to be that person.
Today, I thought some people are very worried about courier packages or mail not arriving at the destination. These people would keep checking online to see the status of their package or keep calling the courier company in question. My experiences with courier companies as a professional have been pleasant and they are reliable and timely. It's weird to see people complaining because I have not experienced what they have experienced and I used to schedule for couriers quite regularly (almost daily). You sort of have to do a bit of everything when you work for a small size company where there is a lot of volumes. I rarely called the courier company and when I did it would have been because I made a mistake (which is extremely rare because I don't want to have to call them). It's a nice feeling when you call the recipient and they can confirm that they have received a package especially if it has and you know it takes at least 3 to 4 days to get there.
I honestly don't get why some people sound so angry on the internet about courier services. We are no longer living in the 1700s, 1800s or earlier where people have to ride horses in the freezing weather on unpaved roads to deliver packages. This morning, I was thinking I could imagine someone's spouse calling the recipient to see if the courier is alive and well but then I realized the telephone didn't exist back then. Imagine back in the days, when the courier services have to travel for months to get to the destination and then travel for months again to get home. If accidents happen no one even knows and everyone is left wondering what happened.
With that said, let's have another wonderful year everyone! Cheers!
My first GIF new years card! Not too shabby!
