Road Peeves

This past Friday, I was annoyed by two drivers who appeared to purposely lean extremely close to me one after the other.  I was driving (on the slow lane on their right) so I do not remember the exact detail.  Nothing happened but their behaviour pissed me off.  I am not sure if they are bad at driving and cannot be in the middle of the lane or if they were commenting on my driving through action.  I try to keep to center of the lane; however, I tend to be closer to the left because I used to ride my bicycle a lot so as a driver, I am worry about my right side, always.

As they were speeding towards a red light, I caught up to one of them.  This time I was on her left side and waiting for my turn to go into the left turn lane.  It was rush hour.  I let the air out, as we were side by side, and said with my loud voice, " You were leaning too close to me!!!".  Her car and her reminded me of this other driver I once saw, who also annoyed me.

I thought I blogged about this incident before but I could not find it anywhere so I will write about it now.

I was riding my bicycle.  I turned right to get to a resting area. As soon as I made my turn immediately in front of me was an illegally parked car.   That car was parked so closed to the turn that I could have crashed into it.  It was occupied by a young female driver who had her eyes fixated on her phone.  I parked my bicycle at a spot in the parking area which was only a few car space in front of her.  I tried to get her attention while she was inside her car with all windows up.  I got her attention but she was probably fearful of me because I was speaking loudly.  I probably also looked scary because I just biked for at least 40 mins on the road beside a bunch of car and was tired.  I just wanted to tell her to move her car to a safer spot.  Common sense is not so common so people have to put signs up but people like her appear to miss them all.  Whenever I come across someone like her, I am extra upset because sometimes people say people like her looks like me when I was younger.  I would have to disagree.  She didn't move but i think she moved shortly after i left because a bunch of cars horned at me while they were behind, beside or passing me.  Their horns did not sound friendly.  Maybe it was just one car that horned but i always thought it was more than one.  I was very upset but it didn't stop me from riding my bicycle wherever I want.  I continue to speak whenever I can.

People don't like it whenever I speak. I am not good at people who actually respond verbally though because they will probably say something I haven't thought of.

I finally read The little match-seller

On an evening that was close to the last evening of the old year, I walked my dog, Finn.  During that less than one hour walk we came upon this house, where Finn decided to step on the front yard, with big windows and a well-lit room on the main floor facing the street.  If i was 8 feet tall and have the gut to stand there for more than 5 minutes, it would have been possible for me to comfortably see everything that was inside.

Nevertheless, I am not even 6 feet tall and am far too shy to stand there for more than 3 minutes.  However, as I was with Finn, I saw the house, as described, and was reminded of the story known to many as "The little match-seller".

I have not seen or heard the story for many years and could only vaguely remember the story that was told or read to me along with coloured illustrations I saw with my own eyes.  I also have a text of the story which I have not read until today at around roughly less than an hour ago.

I think it was very fitting for me to read the "original" text today.

Excuse me, I have to now go find the first version that was ever read to me.  Good night.
