My productive day

I am becoming more and more productive as we get more day light hours.

Today, I was able to occupy my time till around 515pm before I started watching Black Sails

The following is a chronological list of tasks I completed today

1. Brush teeth
2. Walk dog and took detour at empty children playground
3. Eat breakfast
4. Attend to check finances as recorded by financial institution against my own records
5. Read one chapter of a memoir in traditional Chinese and made notes
6. Read one chapter of a novel in English and made notes
7. Read dictionary and copy definition
8. Send messages with newly acquired words
9. Copy a wooden dead object into my sketchbook with pen
10. Attend to unfinished needle work
11. Send email out to check on membership situations
12. Show time

The above list did not include time for lunch, snacks and dinner.

I also forgot to mentioned that I played the piano for about one and a half hour.

That was my Saturday.  How did you spend yours?

My cellular phones

Dear my non-existent readers,

You don't know this but recently my mobile number has been down because I was tardy in getting it working again.  I was receiving mostly spam calls and my friends were mostly unresponsive.  I have always been that random person that someone might call out of the blue.

My mobile number is important to me though because that's the number I have linked to personal accounts.

Anyhow, the issue has now been solved but I thought it would be a good time to write about my usage of phones and how I have always used them to their "end of life".  The most recent phone is not end of life, but the screen was shattered to the point that the glass was really starting to cut my fingers with each swipe.

I am tardy to bring it into those bins for refurbishment.   I think we have enough mobile devices floating around.  After all, I get ignored most of the time.

BTW while my mobile smartphone was out, I started using my tablet.  I like the interface set up for the app I use which is minimal so I am going to continue using the tablet.  Size matter ;)

My first cell phone was soft pink and was a small flip phone.  It was dingdy and cute.  I can definitely go back to that phone since I mostly just text and rarely talk.

My second phone was white with a slide out keypad.

My third phone was almost the same as the white but purple.

I finally got my first smartphone when the technology geniuses pushed out budget cheap and affordable smartphones.  My HTC wildfire, pretty sure it was first generation, was long lasting.  One day I was at a BBQ Meat shop and dropped the phone for the first time ever and it was dead.  It wouldn't even turn on.  I was very sad.  I was unlucky enough to drop it at an angle that managed to break it immediately.  Before the drop, it was fine.

Next I got my moto g, also first gen, this one I also loved; however, eventually I kept getting, in my opinion, negative incoming messages.  One not so fine day, I was so angry that I threw it to the wall.  The screen shattered.  I was upset that I shattered the screen of my phone because it functions very well.  I continued using this phone until one day I realize it was getting too dangerous as I was touching copper and glass at the same time.  I think this phone will work fine again once you replace the screen.  Prior to shattering the screen, one day I was using the back of the phone to lightly hammer something.  The hammering lead to a crack on the glass of the back camera.  I actually grew to love the photos taken by the front and back cameras of this broken phone because the shatted lens automatically became my photograhing style.  No one ever asked me why my photos turned out the way they did.  And yes, the shatter grew with each poke.  It was a touchscreen smartphone after all.

Anyhow, I have boxed up the phone.  I am not ready to part with it yet.

My room is FINALLY filled

I was very inspired this morning to blog about reorganizing my room with the same stuff that have been neatly stuffed into each man made cave  (i.e. dressers, drawers, closet, etc.).

My room is almost completely filled.  You can still squeeze stuff into the spaces my family have created within my room but I have organized it with open spaces for each little compartment because everything needs a little room to breath.

My cleaning of my room is due to free time I have, keep sakes which have been piling up and furniture in family areas which were up for grabs before throwing it out of the house.  After all of my sorting, my decision to keep each furniture I have in my room was absolutely correct.  I also learned about the different design and usage of each one.  I finally have enough personal belongings to put into each of my shelves, my dresser, my closet, my cabinet, the space underneath my desk as well as space underneath my bed.

It feels good to look at everything I have.  I tend to love things I have purchased for myself but I keep and use "not my style" gifts as well.

Actually, I am most upset when I lose gifts as oppose to lose things I bought.

I search for lost gifts, throw a little tantrum and cry a little all by myself.

I don't lose things often, I am not a litter bug.

Yes, I go by the motto "founders keepers" or is it "finders keeper"? Doesn't matter, you get what I mean or do you?

As my finishing act, I am looking at the highest shelve space possible in my closet to ensure all boxes are empty, like I remembered since the last time I cleaned my room.

Stay tuned for the next update (which may not be on this topic).

Dispose Collect Spread

or D.C.S&O. or is it the Dispose, Collect, Spread and Observe cycle?

Dear my nonexistent readers,

As you may not know since a few seasons ago I have been attending to my parents garden which have previously been worked on by my grandparents while they were visiting us on vacation.  My grandparents vacation was a long time ago because coming to this western land requires a lot of strength from any living being and exert a lot of strain to you as a whole.  The time, commitment and fear of all that is unknown.

The landscape to our backyard has changed quite a bit since their departure from farming in our little garden in our humble backyard.

Each day, I collect shit in the backyard, sort them and think about where they should go.  It was getting harder and harder to think about where something should go but then yesterday to today, I had an epiphany period of time.

I love swings and the current swing standing has always stood on uneven ground.  I am going to work on that area by making the stand stand on level surface as well as ensuring grass can grow below /beneath the swing.  The fabric on the swing has gone through damaged created by each season that has passed.  Hot & Cold damage including a punch from myself which resulted a straight rip (perhaps almost in the middle).  It's time to change the fabric hanging on the swing into a lighter colour so that grass can actually grow below of it.  I think I can buy a roll grass easy. I just have to continue to freeze the soil below.  I already have the fabric I could be using like dry twig from my maple tree which I could potentially thread into a swing fit for me or those board already with holes punch into it in a uniform manner with added scavaged scraps perhaps!  I am not sure if you see what I see from this blog update but it works for me.

I have a lot of garbage at my disposal to update my swing bed area.

I am out of time as I sort out more garbage in our humble backyard beyond the deck!

Please visit my blog about my dog for another garbage update!

You are welcome!

Alternate Universe Ouch

As mentioned in a previous blog, I enjoy the game Ragnarok Online very much.  Looking at it from an alternate universe perspective, if I was an NPC which only shows up when I log on then the crowd would never disappear because no one is showing up to clear the crowd.

If the crowd were people requiring healing, I would show up as a priest.

If the crowd were bad and refuse to leave, I would show up as a character with a a tool to shoo.

So, if the crowd were zombies and I show up as a living person learning to heal, I'll keep healing the wrong things and hear more ouches from the zombies and I'll let out a little more oops my apologies for the wrong heal and continue to attempt to revive you somehow.

I guess the crowd show up for me because they trust my healing power so much.

March Break Brows

If November is for Movember, is March Break for March Break Brow(s), as in you bring awareness to women issues by leaving one or both of your eyebrows alone.  What do you think?  Or is it already scheduled on some other date that I am not aware of?

Announcement

It is late at night.  Perhaps it is a good time to test out that PA system installed and equipped into each bus made for the purposes of communicating with your passengers.

A common way to use that PA system during rush hour is to tell people to move back with your own voice instead of that robotic voice which will come with text rolling across some screen.

Are you sure your public announcement system on your bus which you will be operating is working at the beginning of your shift.
