Leisurely Friday and Cooking

(Casual) Friday! I love Fridays because we get to wear JEANS (well some of us anyways)!

Jeans "are casual trousers..." according to a dictionary. I guess Friday feels more leisurely to me because I can be in casual wear.

Cooking is and should be a leisurely activity but at certain times it feels like a chore and other times it feels like a stressful event or (perhaps) a team building exercise!

Two famous cooks that I am aware of are Gordon Ramsay and Remy (the mouse from Ratatouille)*!

Recently, I had the opportunity to experience my own version of "Hell's Kitchen".  I decided to be more proactive at home and helped out with cooking; however, my parents, both of them, have their own ways of cooking.   As such, it is hard to navigate between two sets of instructions and to work while there are heated discussions (or, sometimes, arguments) in the background.  It also made me realize that, if a team is not managed well, anything could become dangerous.  My parents and I are still cooking together.  It is a work in progress.  Cooking is quite enjoyable though when I am cooking by myself or with friends (most of the time).

Best of luck to all of you who will be cooking on Valentine's Day (or Single Awareness Day**) whether it is for yourself, for a loved one, for work or simply for eating!

For those of you in certain parts of Canada, happy long weekend!

*I know Remy is a fictional character.  Hopefully I didn't offend any wonderful cooks.  I just wanted to mention Remy because I learned a bit about cooking from this featured film.  I would also recommend the films "Chef" and "Jiro dreams of Sushi" (both related to cooking).

**When I didn't have a Valentine, I called Valentine's Day Single Awareness day.  I heard some other people say it first! #SAD# But, hey, being single is not that bad (actually it's nice too!). #blessed#
