Online Relationships 101

Relationships are not limited to only romantic ones; however,  this posting is about romantic relationships formed online.

As a teenage pimply, somewhat hairy and chubby girl,  I had a handful of online boyfriends.   They were all not within traveling distance and I never thought I would ever meet any of them.   I also watched a lot of educational and entertainment videos and movies about the danger of meeting strangers.   I was not brave enough like some other peers who would buy a plane ticket and fly all the way to meet the "online boy friend".  Anyhow,  in case you are wondering,  I am married to one of them now,  just kidding.   Never met them offline.

It's funny to be part of a generation where communication became seemingly easier and faster with technology.  Some people are glued to their techbology,  checking to see if their "significant other" read their message.     Sometimes,  I accidentally open a message, opening does not equate to reading,  hello!!!!!

Sad to say, I actually looked forward to online gaming with my online boyfriend a lot.   We chatted a lot while gaming together.   Eventually, we parted because he graduated and had more important things to attend to.   I left that game soon after too, because school got significantly harder and the commute was also much longer.   No time,  no one to play with, and eventually I thought,  what's the point of collecting things in a virtual world when I can collect things in the real world.

When I was almost done with school, I tried online dating.   I'm pretty good at getting first dates and disappearing after or vice versa.   First dates are usually fun and the guy throws out a lot of compliments.   You know something is wrong when he wants to dutch everything.  If the guy wants to pay, just let him.   Your time is precious.  Just because he paid don't expect he wants more time with you,  maybe he has a whole slew of dates lined up and has a lot of dough to throw around.

Anyhow,  I'm done with dating.   Too much reading and deciphering.  The technology is only helpful in terms of helping me find the location that's about it.

Good luck checking out people's profile.
