I complaint to both household members about their devices on multiple occasions for many years. I am probably the one at home with the least amount of purchases. The best way to safeguard yourself about it is be aware that it is impossible to remove spyware.
The more smart devices you have, the more susceptible you are to spyware. At the same time, you would be more experienced with all that is out there as you will have exposure to the latest technologies and keeping up with all spys and anit-spys at all times.
I wonder how many experts are sitting here shaking their heads saying they are still using their desktop computer from 1995 and their first cell phone since 2000 or they only have one mobile device at all time because they believe in the tradein and upgrade system.
I am one of those people that buy their device outright but I always choose the lowest best out there. As mentioned previously my favourite smartphone broke when it unexpectedly dropped on the ground. I kept all broken devices in a box for a long time never taking them to repair or anything. Therefore the inside of each device contains a lot of valuable hardware that can be used to build an upgraded device. I gave them all to a non for profit organization when they were collecting e-waste. Prior to giving them away, I could not remove any personal data, because it was impossible to turn on each device.
I hope the non-for-profit organization took the device apart and broke it down into pieces and did not try to turn it on again. If they managed to turn them on, I hope they did a factory reset to remove all personal information that might still be on each device. During collection process they had a big camera pointing at my face recording me dropping off the device. I hate being photographed or videographed but didn't say anything as it is normal in today's society to have cameras pointing at your face at all times. I left the broken devices with them because I believe they will properly handle all devices that end up in their possession.
Going back about my complaints to others about their devices. If spyware is on your phone, the spy may use your device to affect others around you. All behaviours that cell phone or "smart" device exhibit are modeled after a human behaviour.
People closed to me probably think I have poor control when using smart device so they choose to ignore me so we can all move on or tell me blatantly to stop bothering them. I am a very uncaring person who never apologizes and people run away from me like a plague. I forgot to say I am rude and inchy.
