A while back, I wrote about my plan to complete as many Spartan Race courses as possible since then I've been training almost everyday. Okee, my training buddy, has been faithfully following my wing it routine everyday. She adds to my wing-it-ness.
We missed rainy day training today because we already spent 3 hours training in foggy/misty condition (before the rain started). I even practiced my downhill mud slide and claw across a narrow bridge!
Hopefully, I won't get lost during Spartan because I have read on another blog before that a bunch of partcipants couldn't finish a beast course because they lost track of the route. The guy even woke up at like 4am in the morning to get to the event at like 6 am or something. It was his day, it was his event... but... he went off course and a whole bunch of people followed him.
I am planning to soothingly finished all the courses and enjoy the sceneries. The man made obstacles are about the same every year so to be completely honest I'm really there to see the surrounding areas. The man made obstacles are fun though :)
I think if everyone knew what they were doing, there would be less of a line up at the obstacles. If I was going at the right speed, my body might be warmed up when it gets to the obstacle. Usually I wait so long that when it is finally my turn to do the obstacle, I have to warm up my body again. Sometimes, I end up clamping one of my legs after barely completeling an obstacle.
Sometimes, strangers offer to help me and I gracefully accept other times I reject and politely tell them that I want to try it by myself. I never offer help because my help will not be helpful at all. I'm helping by simply moving or getting out of their way. I also help by lecturing my traveling companion when such companion is being rude and saying unnecessary things. I also have to apologize on their sorry behalf. Luckily, I'm running alone again this year.
Anyways, I digress. I'm really looking forward to Spartan Race this year. I don't know how many locations I'll actually travel to but I'm ready whenever!
I digress again. Originally, I just wanted to write that life is pretty mundane. A good movie is a small glimpse of a colourful life, highlighting "special" moments, happy or sad.
I've always enjoy training, drills and practice. Only you can see your own improvements. If you are training incorrectly, you will know eventually.
Sweating is a great way to detox. Currently, I choose to sweat by running with Okee every morning. If we run into you and we stink, sorry :p!
Hoping that you will cross the finish line with a big smile. "You'll know at the finish line!"
Yes, I always finish with a big smile!
