To Receive or Give - that is the question!

This was supposed to be last Friday's post but new year, old habits.  Too lazy to turn up the computer to type and edit what I have hand-written.

Last last week, I asked something along the lines of would you rather receive or give?

I would be neither because sometimes when I'm giving, I end up receiving and sometimes when I am receiving I end up giving.  It is not a choice.  It just happens.

The question is too broad.
