If I was an Adventurer (1) - Preparing for my 2017 Parks Canada Visit(s)!

I have not written in a while so blogging on the first Monday of the new year (2017) does not feel mundane.

What have I been busy with? Absolutely Nothing.

I have been enjoying my unemployed life and reliving my summer days during winter.  Winter has come and the snow is still coming (hopefully)!

Around the last Pan Am Games, I  blogged about what people in my community could be doing on a Sunday.  I cannot find this lost blog post which had a short list of then current events that I was aware of and was interested in.  One of the events listed was Canada's preparation for its 150th birthday which is this year in July!

I guess, we are still eagerly preparing for the one hundred and fiftieth (150th) anniversary of the confederation of Canada.  How many times does one hundred fifty (150) happen? Where will you be this July 1st?  Will you be at home or elsewhere?  or maybe you are too eagerly waiting for the next important birth date?  Perhaps, Canada's one hundred and eightieth (180th), approximately three (3) decades from now?

As part of its celebration, Parks Canada/Parcs Canada has already opened its doors by granting you free access to all Parks Canada places.  According to the free resources, I have been able to gather to the date hereof (some of which are no longer working or are currently going through maintenance), there are 168 national historic sites, 46 national parks and 4 national marine conservation areas to visit!

As an adventurer, I have been reading many variations of the same map (ie. scale, legends, points of interests, colour, routes, methods of transport, etc).  I wanted to plan my adventure accordingly and travel safely, efficiently, affordably and comfortably at the same time.

According to my crammed research, there are five (5) National Parks, 13 (+3?+?) National  Historic Site, two (2) national marines and one (1) unfinished first (1st) National Urban Park in Ontario, where I reside.  The image to this blog post is a thirty (30) seconds summary of my thirty (30) minutes swift deciphering of the free resources I have gathered.  There are no national hot springs in Ontario, you have to go to Western Canada for that.

Along with my two (2) handfuls of traveling companions, I have traveled to the unfinished national urban park many times already.
